About Penn IP
Penn Ip received her BA degree in Humanities at Hong Kong Baptist University (Hong Kong, 2004), her MA degree in Intercultural Studies at Chinese University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong, 2005), and her MA degree in Cultural Analysis at University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands, 2012). Now she is a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam and is writing her thesis within the HERA SINGLE project. Central to her project is the mediation, construction and the composition of working class, single migrant women’s “home” in China.
Research Description

  • Yiu Fai CHOW is a postdoctoral researcher at the Hong Kong Baptist University. His research focuses on 'Caring in the Time of Precarity: A Study of Single Women in the Creative Class of Shanghai'.
  • Professor Jeroen de Kloet from the University of Amsterdam is project leader of the sub-project 'Precarity'. His research topic is 'Single and the City'.
